September 28: Isenberg's Virtual Career Fair

Updated: Oct 5, 2020

This week we had an internal presentation about Isenberg’s upcoming Virtual Career Fair. The virtual aspect of this year’s career fair posed new challenges to students looking for internships and full-time job opportunities. OIM Club President, Ellen, spoke about the importance of attending the career fair. She also broke down how to navigate the career fair, as it can be overwhelming since many companies are looking for students with OIM skills. Finally, Ellen and the rest of E-Board shared some networking tips and best practices. Some advice shared was to be prepared with your elevator pitch, resume, and be early to the Zoom sessions. The importance of being prepared to answer recruiter’s questions was also highlighted, especially the infamous “Why do you like this company?” Students were also encouraged to ask recruiters their questions both about the company like, “What do you enjoy about your position?” The meeting finished up by discussing what we as OIM major have to offer, and which companies are looking for OIM majors. We wish the best of luck to those who participated in the Virtual Career Fair and look forward to hearing about your opportunities!
